Monitoring
Monitoring the environmental effects of the Plan is the final stage in the SEA process.
The information gathered as a result of monitoring enables the Responsible Authority to track the environmental effects of the Plan, gauge the effectiveness of any mitigation measures employed, identify unforeseen effects and manage any uncertainty encountered in the assessment process.
Monitoring should be undertaken in a manner which enables the Authority to identify any unforeseen adverse effects at an early stage and undertake appropriate remedial action.
