How to use this guidance
This guidance is designed to augment and be used in conjunction with SEA guidance for Scotland and SEA guidance for Northern Ireland. Please note it is not necessarily exhaustive and does not guarantee compliance with the relevant SEA legislation.
This website has been designed to help SEA practitioners to quickly find information and examples in relation to effects of a Plan on air, soil and water whilst working at different stages of the SEA.
The menu on the left allows navigating through the different SEA stages. A site map is available in the bottom navigation bar at any time, together with other useful general information about the project and the background reports.
The main structure (level 1) is similar to the one available in the SEA guidance, so that it is easy to refer to at different SEA stages.
At level 2 general background information leads to the detailed information for air, soil and water at level 3.
Level 3 tables are PDF pages. You can click the button on a specific topic to find the table related to that topic (air, soil and water). A list of all the tables is also available in the Other Information section together with other relevant useful links.
The text in orange provides hyperlinks to internal or external pages.
The search engine will help you find quickly information in the text of the website. Please note the search engine does not work with the PDF tables, however you can use the search function available through Adobe.
You will need to:
- Open the PDF document (this will open Adobe Reader)
- Go to: Edit
- Select: Find
- Enter the keyword you are looking for
You can either search within the body of the individual tables (identified through the table list) or search the background reports. The reports were last updated in April 2009.
The website will be updated regularly. The information is currently up to date up to the 31 March 2010. However, if you are aware of information on this website that has become out of date, you can contact SNIFFER directly.
