Strategic Environmental Assessment Website: Guidance on Air, Soil and Water

Welcome to the Strategic Environmental Assessment Guidance on Air, Soil & Water

The aim of this website is to provide practical guidance for Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) practitioners in Scotland and Northern Ireland on how to take into account the potential significant environmental effects of implementing a plan, programme or strategy on the SEA topics of air, soil and water. It does this by providing advice on: baseline information, data sources, ideas for assessment techniques, typical types of effects, suggestions for monitoring. This guidance is designed to be used in conjunction with the SEA Guidance for Scotland and the SEA Guidance for Northern Ireland
This website has been developed by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) as a partnership project between Scotland & Northern Ireland Forum For Environmental Research (SNIFFER) and:

The symbols on the right are available through the website; these will link to PDF tables on each of the SEA topics of air, soil and water. This website will be updated regularly. However, if you are aware of information that has become out of date, you can contact SNIFFER (see Contacts below).
